西南石油大学是新中国创建的第二所石油本科院校，是一所中央与地方共建、以四川省人民政府管理为主的高等学校。2013年，学校入选“国家中西部高校基础能力建设工程”，成为入选该工程的100所高校之一。石油与天然气工程学科连续两轮入选国家一流学科，全国学科评估连续获评A+。我校石油与天然气工程学科形成“油气并举、气为特色”并在全国乃至全球学科覆盖最广、研究方向最完整的学科格局，石油与天然气工程及其配套学科水平较高，工程学进入ESI排名世界前1‰行列，化学、材料学、地球科学、环境/生态学进入ESI排名世界前1%行列。
Southwest Petroleum University (SWPU), founded in 1958, is the second petroleum university since the establishment of P.R. China. It is jointly built by the central and local governments, with the Sichuan Provincial Government as the main administrator. In 2013, SWPU was selected into the “National Central and Western Universities Basic Capacity Construction Project” and became one of the 100 universities in the project. The discipline of Petroleum and natural gas engineering has been selected as the national first-class discipline for two consecutive rounds, and has been rated as A+ discipline in the national discipline assessment. Now it has formed the discipline development pattern of “co-developing oil and gas, with gas being featured”, making the broadest discipline coverage and the most complete research directions across China and even around the world. Engineering has entered the top 1‰ of ESI rankings in the world, while Chemistry, Materials Science, Geo-science and Environmental/Ecology are among the top 1% of ESI rankings in the world.
经过60多年的建设，学校现已发展成为一所以工为主、多学科协调发展、石油天然气优势突出和特色鲜明的大学，石油主干学科专业在全国处于领先水平。
After more than 60 years of development, SWPU has evolved into a multi-disciplinary university focusing on engineering, with advantage in oil and gas discipline that ranks the top in China.
学校现有15个教学学院、1个工程训练中心。学科专业涵盖理学、工学、管理学、经济学、文学、法学、教育学、艺术学8个学科门类。本科具有招生资格专业74个，一级学科博士学位授权学科7个、专业学位博士点1个，一级学科硕士学位授权学科24个、硕士专业学位授权类别15个，自主设置能源类交叉学科博士学位授权点2个、硕士学位授权点4个。
SWPU consists of 15 schools and 1 engineering training center, covering 8 discipline fields: Science, Engineering, Management, Economics, Literature, Law, Education and Art. There are 74 undergraduate majors eligible for enrollment, 7 first-level disciplines with doctoral degree authorization, 1 professional degree doctoral program, 24 first-level disciplines with master's degree authorization, 15 categories of master's professional degree authorization, and 2 self-established interdisciplinary doctoral degree authorization points and 4 master's degree
学校重视国际交流与合作，已与美、俄、英、德、日、法、加等10多个国家和地区的高等院校和相关学术研究机构建立了密切的交流与合作关系。
SWPU has always attached great importance to international exchange and cooperation and has established close relationships with higher education institutions and relevant academic research institutions in more than 10 countries and regions such as the United States, Russia, the United Kingdom, Germany, Japan, France, Canada, etc.

♦ ⌈留学生培养概况 International Students Admission⌉
西南石油大学于1997年获得招收来华留学生资格，2011年开始招收石油工程、化学工程与工艺等特色专业本科学历留学生。2017年，学校积极响应国家“一带一路”教育倡议，大力推进对外开放工作，实施规模化招生。2018年以来，学校在多国建立海外在线来华留学预科基地，创新实施境外办学。2022年以来，学校开拓校企合作国际化人才培养渠道，与多家油气企业达成人才培养协议，致力培养出服务社会和国际油气行业发展的高素质来华留学人才。
Southwest Petroleum University (SWPU) obtained the qualification to enroll international students from abroad in 1997. In 2011, it began to enroll undergraduate international students majoring in characteristic disciplines such as Petroleum Engineering, Chemical Engineering and Technology. In 2017, the University actively responded to the national "Belt and Road Initiative" in education, vigorously promoted the opening-up work, and implemented large-scale enrollment. Since 2018, SWPU has established overseas online preparatory bases for international students in multiple countries, innovatively implementing overseas education programs. Since 2022, the University has explored international talent cultivation channels through school-enterprise cooperation, reaching talent cultivation agreements with multiple oil and gas enterprises, and is committed to cultivating high-quality international students from abroad who can serve society and contribute to the development of the international oil and gas industry.
经多年发展，学校已累积培养来自摩洛哥、孟加拉国、伊拉克、圭亚那、俄罗斯、韩国、巴基斯坦、斯里兰卡、泰国、印度尼西亚等60多个国家和地区近2000名来华留学生。学校现有在册来华留学生500余人，“一带一路”共建国家学生占比99.8%。
After years of development, the University has trained nearly 2,000 international students from more than 60 countries and regions, including Morocco, Bangladesh, Iraq, Guyana, Russia, South Korea, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Indonesia etc. Currently, there are over 500 registered international students at the University, among whom students from countries participating in the Belt and Road Initiative account for 99.8%.
