成都体育学院创建于1942年，是国内办学历史最为悠久的体育院校。初名四川省立体育专科学校，1950年更名为成都体育专科学校，1953年改设为西南体育学院，成为新中国重点建设、国家体育总局（原国家体委）直属六大体育院校之一。1956年更为现名，2001年成为四川省人民政府与国家体育总局共建院校。在长期办学过程中，明确了建设成为“特色鲜明、多学科融合发展的应用研究型世界一流体育大学”的办学定位，形成了“以‘本’为本、夯实基础，以‘用’为上、彰显优势，以‘特’为翼、铸就品牌，以‘师’为先、厚植根柢”的办学理念，坚持“办学传统塑风格，改革创新聚活力，多元服务拓影响，内涵发展上台阶”的办学思路，确定了“一专多能”高素质应用型人才的培养目标，淬炼出“以体为本、体医渗透、体文结合、体艺并蓄”的鲜明办学特色。
Established in 1942, Chengdu Sport University (CDSU) is the sports university with the longest history in China. Originally named Sichuan Provincial Physical Education College, it was renamed Chengdu Physical Education College in 1950. In 1953, it underwent a full transformation into the Southwest Sport University, one of the six major sports education institutions directly under the General Administration of Sport of China (formerly the State Physical Culture and Sport Commission) in People's Republic of China. CDSU adopted its current name in 1956 and became a university jointly built by the People's Government of Sichuan Province and the General Administration of Sport of China in 2001. Throughout the extensive history of academic excellence, CDSU has defined the positioning as building a "world-class applied research-oriented sport university with distinctive characteristics and multidisciplinary integrated development", formed a teaching philosophy centered on "taking‘Undergraduate Education’as the basis, consolidating the foundation, putting 'application' first, highlighting advantages, taking 'specialty' as the wing, shaping the brand, giving priority to 'teachers' and deeply nurturing roots", and adhered to the idea of "shaping style through education tradition, fostering vitality through reform and innovation, expanding influence through diverse services, and advancing through development in depth". Additionally, CDSU has set the goal of cultivating "specialized and versatile" high-quality application-oriented talents, and refined the distinctive educational characteristics of "taking sport as the mainstay, sport-medicine combination, sport and liberal arts integration, and embracing both sports and arts".
学校自1957年开始本科教育，现有24个本科专业，跨7大学科门类。有8个国家级一流专业建设点，8个省级一流专业建设点，9门国家级一流本科课程，共获得省部级及以上教学成果奖10项。学校2013年获批成为博士学位授予单位，现设有体育学一级学科博士后科研流动站，附属体育医院为四川省博士后创新实践基地和全国博士后科研工作站。有体育学一级学科博士学位授权点、全国首批体育博士专业学位授权点，体育学、临床医学、中西医结合、新闻传播学、特种医学等5个一级学科硕士学位授权点，和体育、中医、新闻与传播、舞蹈、翻译、博物馆、旅游管理等7个硕士专业学位授权点。体育学、临床医学（运动医学）、新闻传播学、中医4个学科入选四川省高等学校“双一流”建设贡嘎计划建设学科名单，其中体育学为Ⅰ类建设学科。
Since launching undergraduate programs in 1957, CDSU has developed 24 undergraduate majors across seven major disciplines. CDSU boasts 8 national-level and 8 provincial-level first-class disciplines, along with 9 national first-class undergraduate courses. CDSU has received 10 provincial and ministerial teaching achievement awards. Authorized to grant doctoral degrees in 2013, CDSU now hosts a postdoctoral research station for the first-level discipline of Sports, with Affiliated Sports Hospital of CDSU as a postdoctoral innovation practice base in Sichuan Province and a national postdoctoral research workstation. CDSU has a doctoral degree program in the first-level discipline of Sports, one of the first batch of specialized doctoral degree programs in Sports in China, 5 master's degree programs in the first-level disciplines of Sports, Clinical Medicine, Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine, Journalism and Communication, and Special Medicine, as well as 7 specialized master's degree programs in Sports, Traditional Chinese Medicine, Journalism and Communication, Dance, Translation & Interpretating, Museology, and Tourist Management. Sports Science, Clinical Medicine (Sports Medicine), Journalism and Communication, and Traditional Chinese Medicine have been included in the list of disciplines under the Gongga Plan for the "Double First-Class" Initiative Construction of Higher Education Institutions in Sichuan Province, with Sports Science classified as a Category I discipline.
学校建有占地面积123.66万平方米（约合1854.905亩）、建筑面积约62.68万平方米的现代化校园。现有15个教学单位，全日制本科在校学生11651人、硕博士研究生1818人；有专任教师770人，其中享受国务院政府特殊津贴专家、四川省学术和技术带头人等省级及以上人才称号人员92人次。
CDSU boasts a modern campus covering an area of 1,236,600 square meters (approximately 1,854.905 acres) with a total building area of about 626,800 square meters. CDSU comprises 15 teaching units, with 11,651 full-time undergraduate students and 1,818 doctoral and master's students. CDSU employs 770 full-time teachers, including 92 experts, holding provincial or higher-level talent titles, with special allowances from the State Council and academic and technology leaders of Sichuan Province.
♦ ⌈留学生培养概况 International Students Admission⌉
近3年来，成都体育学院吸引了200余名留学生到校学习。2023年，1名留学生顺利获得毕业证、学位证并通过清华大学考核，成为清华大学2023级硕士研究生；1名留学生参与成都第31届世界大学生夏季运动会开幕式重要仪式。学校制定了《成都体育学院外国留学生管理办法》《成都体育学院外国留学生奖学金制度》，推动来华留学生趋同化管理；与历史文化学院、外国语学院、运动医学与健康学院、武术学院等对接，合力推进来华留学工程，建设具有成体特色的汉语学习、武术学习、中医药学习等中国文化学习体系；以特色和优势学科优化来华留学生生源结构和层次，向四川省教育厅、成都市教育局申报留学生政府奖学金，遴选和培养优秀外国留学生。
Over the past three years, Chengdu Sport University (CDSU) has attracted over 200 international students. In 2023, one international student successfully obtained her graduation certificate and bachelor's degree, and passed the entrance examination of Tsinghua University, and was admitted to its 2023 postgraduate program. Another international student participated in the important opening ceremony of the Chengdu 2021 FISU World University Games. CDSU has formulated the "Chengdu Sport University Management Regulations for International Student" and the "Chengdu Sport University Scholarship System for International Student" to promote the integrated management of international students in China. To advance its international student recruitment program, CDSU has collaborated with schools such as School of History and Culture, School of Foreign Languages, School of Sports Medicine and Health, and School of Wushu, building a Chinese cultural education system with the characteristics of Chengdu Sport University, including Chinese language, Wushu, and traditional Chinese medicine. By leveraging its distinctive academic strengths, CDSU has optimized its international student recruitment structure. Additionally, it has secured government scholarships from the Sichuan Provincial Department of Education and the Chengdu Municipal Education Bureau to support and nurture outstanding candidates.
