土木工程地质是由西南交通大学赵晓彦教授主持的英文授课课程，于2016年入选全国“来华留学英文授课品牌课程”。
The English-taught course “Geology Applied to Civil Engineering” presided over by Professor Zhao Xiaoyan from Southwest Jiaotong University was selected as one of the “Branded English-taught Courses for International Students in China” in the year of 2016.
2、详细介绍 Detailed Introduction
西南交通大学赵晓彦教授主持的英文授课课程Geology Applied to Civil Engineering于2016年入选全国“来华留学英文授课品牌课程”。该课程充分发挥学校铁路交通特色，紧密结合国家“一带一路”倡议及“高铁走出去”战略，在国家精品课程“土木工程地质”双语课的基础上逐渐发展完善而成，主要面向土木工程、地质资源与地质工程等相关专业的留学生开设，也同时向土木学院国内本科生开放。该课程紧密结合我国高铁建设工程实践和一带一路建设中的工程地质问题，持续开展教学改革，2023年获批国家一流本科课程、出版了《Geology Applied to Civil Engineering》英文教材并被俄罗斯莫斯科国立大学、巴基斯坦真纳大学等国外高校采用、建设了吉尔吉斯暑期学校实践基地，取得了良好的国际影响力。
The English-taught course “Geology Applied to Civil Engineering” presided over by Professor Zhao Xiaoyan from Southwest Jiaotong University was selected as one of the “Branded English-taught Courses for International Students in China” in the year of 2016. This course gives full play to the school’s characteristics in railway transportation and is closely integrated with the country’s “Belt and Road” Initiative and the strategy of “High-speed Rail Going Global”. It has gradually developed and improved on the basis of the national high-quality bilingual course “Engineering Geology for Civil Engineering”. It is mainly offered to international students majoring in civil engineering, geological resources and geological engineering, etc., and is also open to domestic undergraduates in the relative majors.
This course is closely combined with the engineering practices of high-speed rail construction in China and the engineering geological problems in the “Belt and Road” construction. Continuous teaching and education reforms have been carried out. The course has been approved as a national first-class undergraduate course in the year of 2023. The English textbook “Geology Applied to Civil Engineering” has been published and adopted by foreign universities such as Moscow State University in Russia and Quaid-i-Azam University in Pakistan. A practice base for the summer school in Kyrgyzstan has been established. The course with all of these has achieved a good international effect.

课程负责人赵晓彦为西南交通大学地质工程专业教授。教师们分别从事地貌学、矿物岩石学、岩体力学、工程地质学、水文地质学等方面的研究，尤其在地质灾害勘察防治与交通选线方面形成合力，主持国家及国际合作科研项目多项，取得了良好的科研成果并成功应用于教学和人才培养。
The course leader, Prof. Zhao Xiaoyan at Southwest Jiaotong University and majored in Geological Engineering. The team faculty members conduct research in various fields including geomorphology, mineralogy and petrology, rock mechanics, engineering geology, and hydrogeology. This team has developed particular synergy in geological hazard investigation/prevention and transportation route planning. Having led multiple national and international research projects, they have achieved significant scientific accomplishments that have been successfully integrated into teaching practices and talent development initiatives.
该课程团队由教学经验丰富、科研及教改成果丰硕、具有博士学位、具有海外求学或任职经历的中外教师组成。课程负责人赵晓彦为西南交通大学地质工程专业教授，被授予中国交通教育优秀中青年教师、国家一流本科课程及四川省课程思政示范课程负责人，现任地球科学与工程学院副院长、地质工程系主任。团队教师包括来自俄罗斯及德国的地貌学、岩石学和构造地质学专家和来自中国的工程地质与水文地质专业教授，学缘结构合理。教师们分别从事地貌学、矿物岩石学、岩体力学、工程地质学、水文地质学等方面的研究，尤其在地质灾害勘察防治与交通选线方面形成合力，主持国家及国际合作科研项目多项，取得了良好的科研成果并成功应用于教学和人才培养。
The teaching team for this course consists of Chinese and international faculty members with rich teaching experience, fruitful achievements in scientific research and pedagogical reform, doctoral degrees, and overseas academic backgrounds. The course leader, Prof. Zhao Xiaoyan at Southwest Jiaotong University and majored in Geological Engineering, has been honored as an Outstanding Young and Middle-aged Teacher in Chinese Transportation Education. He serves as the director of both the National First-Class Undergraduate Course and a Sichuan Provincial Curriculum Ideology and Politics Demonstration Course. Currently holding the positions of Vice Dean of the School of Earth Science and Engineering and Director of the Geological Engineering Department, Prof. Zhao leads a multidisciplinary team comprising geomorphology, petrology, and structural geology experts from Russia and Germany, along with Chinese professors specializing in engineering geology and hydrogeology, forming a team with diverse academic backgrounds.
