高等电磁场理论是研究宏观电磁现象的基本规律、数学方法及其在导波、辐射与散射中应用的核心理论课程,是电子科学与技术学科的基石。

Advanced Electromagnetic Field Theory is a core theoretical course that studies the fundamental laws, mathematical methods of macroscopic electromagnetic phenomena and their applications in guiding waves, radiation, and scattering. It serves as the cornerstone of the Electronic Science and Technology discipline.

本课程自2013年起面向电子科技大学来华留学研究生开设,是电磁场与微波技术、信息与通信等学科的重要专业基础课。课程采用全英文小班化教学,系统深入地讲授电磁场的基本方程、平面波理论、辅助位函数、基本原理与定理、电磁辐射与散射、规则波导与谐振腔等核心知识模块。依托电子科技大学电子科学与技术A+学科的雄厚实力,课程将深奥的电磁理论讲授与前沿工程应用紧密结合,旨在帮助留学生构建坚实、系统的电磁理论基础,掌握运用数学物理方法分析复杂电磁问题的能力。针对留学生背景多样化的特点,课程负责人唐红艳教授及其团队长期致力于教学创新,融合OBE-CDIO工程教育理念,探索线上线下混合式教学模式,并针对学生不同需求提供分层培养计划。课程配套丰富的仿真设计实践(HFSS/CST)与实验室测试环节(矢量网络分析仪、微波暗室),引导学生在“训练-思考-探索-创新”中,将理论应用于解决天线、微波电路等实际科研与工程问题,为培养具有国际视野和创新能力的电磁领域高层次人才奠定坚实基础。

This course has been offered for international graduate students at UESTC since 2013 and serves as a crucial professional foundation course for disciplines such as Electromagnetic Field and Microwave Technology, and Information and Communication. The course adopts a full-English, small-class teaching model, systematically and deeply covering core knowledge modules including fundamental equations of electromagnetic fields, plane wave theory, auxiliary potential functions, fundamental principles and theorems, electromagnetic radiation and scattering, and regular waveguides and resonators. Leveraging the strong foundation of UESTC's A+ discipline in Electronic Science and Technology, the course closely integrates the teaching of profound electromagnetic theory with cutting-edge engineering applications, aiming to help international students build a solid and systematic theoretical foundation in electromagnetics and master the ability to analyze complex electromagnetic problems using mathematical and physical methods. Addressing the diverse backgrounds of international students, the course director, Professor Tang Hongyan, and her team have long been committed to teaching innovation, integrating OBE-CDIO engineering education concepts, exploring blended online-offline teaching models, and providing tiered training plans tailored to students' different needs. The course is complemented by rich simulation design practices (HFSS/CST) and laboratory testing sessions (vector network analyzers, anechoic chambers), guiding students through the process of "training, thinking, exploration, and innovation" to apply theory to solve practical research and engineering problems in areas such as antennas and microwave circuits, laying a solid foundation for cultivating high-level talents in the electromagnetic field with international perspectives and innovative abilities.

Course Director: Professor Tang Hongyan, University of Electronic Science and Technology of China (UESTC)

本课程拥有一支教学经验丰富、科研能力突出、国际化程度高的高水平教学团队。负责人唐红艳教授为电子科技大学电磁场(含电波)课程群首席教授,拥有英国伦敦大学玛丽女王学院博士学位及美国加州大学洛杉矶分校访问学者经历,从事留学生《高等电磁理论》全英文教学8年,因其卓越的教学贡献,连续六年(2016-2020年及2022年)荣获电子科技大学“来华留学研究生培养优秀任课教师”称号,并于2021年获得“成电国际合作与国际教育先进个人”荣誉。团队核心成员徐跃杭教授是国家自然科学基金优秀青年基金获得者,拥有美国哥伦比亚大学等海外名校访学经历,在微波集成电路领域科研成果卓著。青年教师田径副教授和骆无穷博士均具有博士学位和海外经历,负责在线课程建设与设计指导。团队4名专职教师全部拥有博士学位和海外学习工作背景,学缘结构优良,英语教学纯熟,在教学、科研、教研等方面优势互补,形成了一支稳定精干、协作意识强的教学队伍,为课程的高质量实施与持续创新提供了坚实保障。

This course is supported by a high-level teaching team with rich teaching experience, outstanding research capabilities, and a high degree of internationalization. The course director, Professor Tang Hongyan, is the Lead Professor of the Electromagnetic Fields (including Radio Waves) course group at UESTC. She holds a Ph.D. from Queen Mary University of London, UK, and has visiting scholar experience at the University of California, Los Angeles, USA. With eight years of experience teaching the full-English "Advanced Electromagnetic Theory" course for international students, she has been awarded the university-level "Excellent Course Teacher for International Graduate Student Cultivation" title for six consecutive years (2016-2020 and 2022) due to her outstanding teaching contributions, and received the "UESTC International Cooperation and International Education Advanced Individual" honor in 2021. The core team member, Professor Xu Yuehang, is a recipient of the National Natural Science Foundation of China's Excellent Young Scientists Fund, with visiting scholar experience at prestigious overseas institutions like Columbia University, USA, and has achieved remarkable research results in the field of microwave integrated circuits. The young faculty members, Associate Professor Tian Jing and Dr. Luo Wuqiong, both hold doctoral degrees and have overseas experience, responsible for online course construction and design guidance. All four full-time faculty members in the team hold doctoral degrees and have overseas study or work backgrounds, possessing diverse academic origins and proficient English teaching skills. They complement each other's strengths in teaching, research, and educational development, forming a stable, capable, and collaborative teaching team that provides a solid guarantee for the high-quality implementation and continuous innovation of the course.
