四川音乐学院创建于1939年，是全国十一所独立设置的专业音乐学院之一，现有武侯、新都、临空经济区三个校区，总占地面积1500余亩，办学层次涵盖研究生教育、本科教育、成人教育和中等艺术教育，在校生规模14000余人。
学校有艺术学一级学科，音乐、舞蹈、美术与书法、设计四个专业类别，共有29个本科专业；现有艺术学一级学科学术硕士学位授权点，4个专业硕士学位授权点，于2013年获批四川省博士后创新实践基地。拥有“四川音乐学院中华传统音乐研究院”、“西南音乐研究中心”、“音乐数智重点实验室”、“四川省音乐艺术普及基地”等一批省级重点学术研究平台，学报《音乐探索》是全国高校优秀社科期刊。
Sichuan Conservatory of Music (SCCM), founded in 1939, is one of China's eleven independent conservatories of music. With campuses in Wuhou, Xindu, and the Lin Kong Economic Zone spanning over 1,500 mu (100 hectares), SCCM provides a complete artistic education pathway encompassing graduate, undergraduate, continuing, and secondary arts programs, and is home to a vibrant community of over 14,000 students.
SCCM is built upon the foundational discipline of Art Studies. Our academic structure is organized into four major fields: Music, Dance, Fine Arts & Calligraphy, and Design, offering a total of 29 undergraduate programs. The conservatory is authorized to grant academic master's degrees in Art Studies and professional master's degrees in four distinct fields. Recognized for its research excellence, SCCM was designated as a Sichuan Provincial Postdoctoral Innovation Practice Base in 2013. It hosts several key provincial-level research platforms, including the Chinese Traditional Music Research Institute (at SCCM), the Southwest Music Research Center, the Key Laboratory of Music and Artificial Intelligence, and the Sichuan Provincial Center for Music Arts Popularization. The conservatory's scholarly publication, Music Exploration, is highly regarded as an outstanding social sciences journal in China's higher education sector.

学校与23个国家（地区）共64所海外高校、机构建立合作关系，面向全球100余个国家和地区招收来华留学生，为留学生提供多种奖学金，包括四川省外国留学生政府奖学金、成都市留学生政府奖学金、四川音乐学院留学生奖学金（入学奖学金、杰出表现奖学金、学习优秀奖学金、杰出留学生奖学金）等，专设对外合作处和专职辅导员对留学生进行服务与管理。
我校本科教育实行学分制培养模式，融入中国文化、中国国情等特色课程，鼓励留学生参与科研项目、学科竞赛、社会实践活动，全面提升跨文化应用能力；针对硕士研究生，推行“导师负责制”，依托学校重点实验室、校企合作基地等科研平台开展联合研究，着力提升学术创新能力。
SCCM has established cooperative partnerships with 64 overseas universities and institutions across 23 countries and regions. We welcome students from over 100 countries and territories worldwide, and offer a variety of scholarship programs to support international study at SCCM. These include the Sichuan Provincial Government Scholarship for International Students, the Chengdu Municipal Government Scholarship, and SCCM's own International Student Scholarships (covering the Admission Scholarship, Outstanding Performance Scholarship, Academic Excellence Scholarship, and Distinguished International Student Scholarship). Dedicated administrative and student support systems are in place to provide comprehensive guidance to international students throughout their academic journey.
In undergraduate education, SCCM implements a credit-based training system, which incorporates distinctive courses on Chinese culture and national conditions. Participation in research projects, academic competitions, and social practice activities is actively encouraged, fostering holistic development and enhanced cross-cultural competencies. For master’s students, the conservatory adopts a “Supervisor Responsibility System.” Under this framework, graduate students engage in collaborative research through key laboratories, university-enterprise cooperation bases, and other academic platforms, with a clear focus on cultivating academic innovation and research excellence.
